Humanitarian response

Humanitarian response

From the 2015 Nepal earthquakes, to the Rohingya people in the world’s largest refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, to the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Ukraine, we respond quickly and creatively to meet the needs of people affected – and we stay long after the headlines fade.

Our humanitarian work is for people affected, rather than about them, helping them access life-saving information, providing psychosocial support, and inspiring action in times of crisis.

We ensure people’s voices, questions, and concerns are heard by humanitarian agencies. We support local media and help improve humanitarian response with our programming, audience research and insights.

We create and support multi-platform content – from public service announcements on loudspeakers to radio dramas to captivating social media, and more – that connects with people where they are. We work directly with communities, and we train local media professionals, aid workers and government representatives to work together to communicate with people in crisis more effectively.

In 2009 we co-founded the Communication with Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) Network.
